Blinged-Out Wet Bar
Glam up Your Wet Bar with a Brushed Nickel Bar Sink
A wet bar is one place in your home where you have all the permission in the world to be unabashedly glamorous, which is precisely what’s so satisfying about this bar designed by Digs Design Company of East Greenwich, Rhode Island. (The compact symmetry of this space also helps make this bar feel just right). Designer Jocelyn Chiappone’s vision even landed this home on NBC’s “Open House.”
Classic and Modern
A perennial favorite on Houzz, the Digs Design Company bar gets all the credit for inspiring the space concocted here. A blend of modern and classic, this is a place both hip and casual, where you feel completely at home mixing up a cocktail, whether in a ballgown or blue jeans.
Create Drama – in a Good Way
At its center is a showy, mirrorball-reminiscent brushed nickel bar sink and its touch-me texture. All the glitz is tempered by naturally luxe materials like a Carrara marble herringbone backsplash and hand-scraped mahogany countertop. Marble candleholders pick up on the backsplash, while a hammered nickel bowl full of lemons and limes reflects the sink. A heavy whiskey decanter, made of mouth-blown, hand-cut crystal sits full of high-octane spirits, while an orb-shaped Jonathan Adler fixture installed directly into the cabinetry ties the area together.
Play with Color
Pick a color, any color, to accent your bar; Digs Design Company went coastal, playing on the Rhode Island setting with blue (baby-blue on the walls and teal on the candlesticks); this concept kitchen dials up the drama with Sherwin Williams’ “Urbane Bronze,” a color that is equal parts charcoal and chocolate. The dark hue recedes while snow-white cabinetry pops. Use glass-paned uppers with glass shelving to show off your stemware collection, and cabinet and drawer pulls with contemporary wood accents play nice with the countertop.
The result: a space designed to deliver good times. Cheers to that.
